Police Records Management System (RMS) - User Training
Audience
The purpose of this course is to prepare appropriate personnel to support the implementation of the RMS system. Appropriate personnel include any and all employees that are required to enter, access, or retrieve specific data that will be stored on the RMS system. Up to 10 employees can be trained per session.
Course Description
This instructor-led course is designed to familiarize the personnel with the use and the capabilities provided by the RMS system. This course is offered as a Base Police RMS course with optional additional modules. The Base Police RMS course, ES-9114D-1, is presented over 7 days, 8 hours per day. It is broken down in the following manner:
2 Days - Incident/NIBRS/Arrest w/Reporting
1 Day - Accidents DMV w/Drawin
1 Day - Case Management
1 Day - Budget/Inventory
1/2 Day - Evidence/Property
1/2 Day - Warrants
1 Day - Records Keeping ("Live" On-Line)

Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, the telecommunicator will be able to:
- Define the information presented in the home screen.
- Navigate through the RMS application to access and change relevant information.
- Generate reports and perform statistical and graphical analysis.
- Use system relational interfaces.
Media
This is an instructor-led course that provides significant "hands-on" experience with the RMS system.
Equipment Required
The actual RMS system that has been purchased by the customer will be used during the training process. Up to 2 students will use each RMS position during training.
Prerequisites
Basic personal computer and mouse skills, as well as an understanding of Microsoft Windows is required.
